“ Do not judge me by my Twitter followers, Facebook friends, YouTube
views, record sales, downloads, or how many times I’m played on Pandora;
rather, judge me by my passion, perseverance , substance, and my innate
skill to weave words together and deliver my story to the masses”, says
Reggie Webb. Okay, so this leads to the question, who is Reggie Webb?
He’s an emcee; born in the rough city of Baltimore raised on West North
Ave. Inspired by his surroundings, hardships, and a genuine love for music
he began writing rhymes and, a past time hobby of rhyming soon grew into a
journey of pain, pleasure, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Reggie Webb honed his skills at various venues around Baltimore such as,
The 5 Seasons, Organic Souls, Warm Wednesday’s, and the legendary ciphers
at Crazy John’s. His constant work ethic landed him in the presence of
Akinola and Florida, hosts of the 22 year running radio show, Strictly Hip
Hop 88.9. His music was placed in the test bin which is a segment of the
show where new music is played from both local and national artist and, the
listeners decide if your music gets played or thrown in the trash. Reggie
Webb successfully won this segment 3 times, these wins leads to an on air
interview and from this interview significant contacts were made. A month
after this interview he released two projects A Mic & A Dream and, Midnight
Grind volume 1. Both of these projects received national recognition and
caught the eye of a few record companies.
Just when it seemed Reggie Webb was about to achieve the goal he
relentlessly pursued for years, all of his hard work and attention from
major and independent companies would take a backseat to family issues. Due
to his daughter’s sickle cell complications he had to move from Baltimore
to the Inland Empire of California to care for his child. After 4 ½ years
of being absent from the Hip Hop landscape Reggie Webb resurfaced with his
own company A Mic & A Dream Entertainment, new music material, and a
strong business partnership with Kevin Black. He’s worked with Raheem
Devaughn, The Olympiks, Pete Twist, Deyon Dobson, Dj LilMic, GS, DA Mike
Mann, Wordsmith, Dynamite, and Consequence. His next mixtape will the
beginning of a series appropriately titled, “I Killed Your Beat”.
Shortly following this project will be the release of a maxi single then an
EP.
Reggie Webb sits in a very unique position unlike any other artist before
him. He’s from Baltimore but he lives in, The I.E. Although it’s been 5
years since he moved from his hometown he returns home frequently and
performs new material and, he also performs and in The I.E. So, with the
release of his upcoming music, Reggie Webb will be simultaneously
representing two places on the map at the same time. He’s still hungry
the passion never left and his rhymes are pure, potent, and passionate as
ever. Be on the lookout for reggiewebb.com and littlereggie.com coming
